I bought this Pirates of the Caribbean replica necklace at Newbury Comics back in 2004 and kept it in pristine condition for years...until I started working at King Richard's Faire in 2008. I wore the necklace with my costume for a season or two, but eventually the clasp broke. I put it in a ziplock bag for safe keeping until I could get to a jeweler to fix it.
That was about 10 years ago.
Since then, it's been in every room of the house, packed away, lost, found and lost again:
Every year around this time, I start planning for The Faire, with this necklace as top priority. I take a few weeks searching for it. When The Faire starts up, there's no time to look anymore. Then The Faire ends and I've gone without my Pirate's necklace for another season. Later on in the year, it magically appears and I keep it safe until The Faire starts up again...and I can never find the damn thing!
Last year, I almost bought another one, but they're so rare now and I was sure I'd just seen mine somewhere...
This has been a decade-long endless cycle and I'm sick of it.
I searched the house twice today and Googled "Master Replicas Pirates of the Caribbean Cursed Aztec Gold Necklace" for hours. Every link was 'auction ended,' 'sold out' and 'permanently out of stock,' -- as always -- before I realized that "Elizabeth Swan Coin Necklace Replica" is the exact same thing, just a newer package (2006) for Pirates 2.
It's $30.00 on eBay.

New Costumes This Year!
The gypsy costume I bought last year is too big...so I got a new, brighter one today:
Just until my new pirate costume comes in the mail. It's due in stock Aug. 31, so the first weekend will definitely be gypsy, then I'll be switching off...
