So they’ve made out on the new couch in the Dean cave while watching old westerns and they trade kisses in the morning and they’ve even slept in the same bed on more than one occasion. But all they’ve done is sleep. Anytime Dean thinks he’s ready to push things further, to roll Cas over and grind into him in a way that leaves no room for interpretation, he gets inside his head and ends up slowing things down before they get to the good part.
In which Dean is too much inside his head about sex with Cas, consults the women in his life about it, and finally gets over himself enough that they finally get naked. They also cook Beef Wellington.

“I’m right here you know,” Castiel says testily.
Sam’s eyes are wide even as his eyebrows are furrowed, and he looks between Dean and Castiel again.
“What do you remember, Cas?”
“Firstly, that I’m not Cas. I don’t know who Cas is, but it’s not me. I don’t know who either of you are, either."
Or, the one where Castiel is hit with a memory curse that makes him forget the Winchester brothers and is stunned to find out he has a family... also why can't he stop thinking about Dean?

The first time Dean and Cas kiss, it's not really even a kiss at all. It is not, however, the last kiss that they share.
Dean doesn't think about it. Not about what it means, not about what it makes them, not about how it affects him. This life—that's not how things work. It's just this, these "in the moment" moments that always slip right out of his fingers because he lets them. He doesn't try to hold onto them, and neither does Cas, and maybe they shouldn't.
Cas kisses him like no one else does, like no one else ever has. Dean absolutely does not think about it unless it's happening to him, and then he doesn't have the ability to think at all. What does it say about him that he occasionally kisses his best friend, who's a man? Dean doesn't know, and he doesn't really want to find out, either.
Never in my life did I think I would not only read a fic with these pairings, but actually enjoy imagining a fictional polyamorous relationship with these incredible people...or that I kinda have a thing for Danneel.
Disclaimer: No one really knows what they're like day to day, outside of the public eye, so I was able to read this as if they're just characters in a story based on real people. Danneel is just gorgeous and I really wouldn't mind being in the middle of an Ackles sandwich...
