80 DAY OBSESSION - DAY 7

DAY 7
ROLL & RELEASE

Unexpected Rest Day!

Went to bed around 2:00AM after blogging all night long. Didn't set any alarms, because that hasn't been going so well for me. Woke up at 12:35PM and scrolled through Facebook for 30 minutes before replying to an email from my aunt for another 30 minutes. By 1:30PM, the internet got screwy and I lost the entire email.

I had breakfast and finished watching PD Cam while I copied karate DVDs for my dad.

I was getting ready to either go for a hike or start 80 Days, I hadn't really decided yet, when the decision was made for me. The power flickered while I was in the bathroom, then I was putting my hair up in the dark. We have a generator, but the cable was out. No Beach Body On Demand.

It was beautiful outside, but really cold, windy and there had been scattered showers in just the few hours I'd been awake. 90 Days didn't even come to mind...

So, I rewrote my email in Notes while half-watching World War Z with my family. Once the email was finished, I had some Reese's pumpkins and got antsy. It had remained sunny, but the wind was still whipping the leaves around and it was about 55° outside.

Around 3:30PM, I decided I'd bundle up and hit the trail. I felt really good today, not dizzy at all, are clear than I have been in a while. So I wanted to make the best of it!

It was really cold down by the water, but once I got past the tree line, there was sufficient cover from the winds. And of course the constant movement helped, too. I don't think I've ever hiked this late before. Sunset was around 5:30PM, and I couldn't help but think of setting up camp on the Appalachian Trail as sunset approached and settling in for the night before rising with the sun and continuing on...or taking a day to relax if need be. It's a good view.
