HAWAI'I: DAY 4

HAWAI'I: DAY 4

Saturday November 18, 2017

I set my last alarm for 8:30AM to get a jump on the day.

After a quick breakfast, I headed to registration to beg for a replacement photo-op ticket for Misha!

In my convention binder, I have copies of my PDF tickets just for show, so I took out my original Misha ticket. I went to the photo-op table first, where they directed me to the registration table. I waited for the woman at the top of the chain, told her my sob story and asked if there was any way I could still have my photo-op. She was so understanding and pulled another ticket out of seemingly nowhere. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about dealing with Creation, but they’ve always been good to me!

Finally able to breathe again, I decided to check out another ABC Stores on the resort, one that promised PAU Maui Vodka, a Hawaiian specialty made from pineapples. The website listed store locations and there’s a bar here that serves it, but I don’t do bars, so I went in search of a bottle.

This ABC Stores was smaller than the one I was in yesterday and didn’t just sell souvenirs. One whole half of the store was a mini-mart! Complete with bakery and refrigerator sections! So much food I can’t eat! No cereal or yogurt because I can’t have dairy. All processed snacks are off limits; chips, crackers, cookies…and I still had bananas. I did pick up a big blueberry muffin and a butter cream loaf from the bakery that looked good.

On my way out, I went through the souvenirs again and the magnet rack caught my eye. I didn’t plan on buying anyone else souvenirs. I’m so strapped for cash as it and I’m not going to buy much for myself, either. But it’s my grandmother’s birthday and she loved magnets. I had to get it. I’m sure she knows I’m thinking of her…

Happy Birthday Grammy

I went back to the room to prepare for my first day of the convention! Lots of photo-ops and a few panels before the Luau tonight.

The photo-op room is immediately to the left of the elevators next to this small sitting area where I waited to hear when the line for my photos started. While I was waiting, I saw Ruth and and Gil in the hallway by the autograph room.

In my vast convention experience, I’ve found it’s easier for me to take a photo with celebrities after seeing them on stage. Being that up close without even having been in the same room with them first is terrifying, no matter how many times I may have met them before. It just eases my nerves and makes me feel better. Rich and Matt are easy anyway, but Karaoke last night really helped!

These guys are awesome!

After seeing Gil at Karaoke and all the pictures from panels yesterday, I decided to grab a photo-op with him. He’s the boys’ grandfather, I’m not sure when I’ll be going to another convention…and he’s really hot!

He’s not just gorgeous, he smells really good, too!

Once the B-Team photos were over, the lines started getting longer. Mark was up first, followed by a duo with Misha then Misha solo.

It’s always weird taking a photo with Mark. His panel was later today, so I hadn't seen him yet and I’ve only ever hugged him at the hotel bar five years ago in Texas where he was a little more laid back. And I was drunk. This pose is a classic, and my go-to in situations like this.

Actually, this might be my favorite photo of the weekend.
This has to be the best before and after picture EVER!

I never know what to do when it’s my turn and the guys completely ignore me. It’s not the first time this has happened, Mark and Misha talking to each other while I stand there awkwardly in front of them, waiting for them to acknowledge me and the handlers are trying to move things along. I don’t want to be rude and interrupt their conversation, but I guess just putting myself between them is the way to go whether they look at me or not. They stopped talking long enough to smile at Chris and I thanked them on my way out…

At least Misha winked at me. He’s so adorable he can get away with anything and put me at ease just like that. That’s love… After the awkwardness, I really appreciated it.

Misha’s photo op line was so long, they had everyone sit in the ballroom and wait for the number on our ticket to appear in a group on the screen. I scrolled through Facebook and iFunny for about 30 minutes before my group was announced.

I always love it when my place in line gets to the door. It’s a few extra minutes I get to stare at these gorgeous men and watch their interaction with other fans. I feel a lot more confident when I know I’m not the only one doing something so out of the ordinary. And some of the poses are really fun.

The line stopped when I entered the room and Misha held up a blank white board for Chris to take a picture.

This came out a few days later.
#IWishForThis

The line started moving again and before I knew it, I was next! I have wanted to hug Misha since Cas died last season! I’ve been waiting a long time for this! Chris wasn’t ready with the camera, so I got a few long extra seconds in his arms! God I love this man!

The only problem is, I was in love with him at one point, before I knew he was married. Then, out of nowhere, he posted a picture of the happy family on the day of his son’s birth. I was completely heartbroken and it took a lot for me to get over it. That was years ago, but I hadn’t seen him since… He missed Texas due to his daughter's birth. That one I knew was coming, just not that weekend, lol.

Immediately after my photo-op with Misha, I rushed back to the ballroom for Mark’s panel. I checked my lanyard for my seat number again, noticing I’d gotten it wrong earlier. I found my seat and finally saw Louden Swain live!

I’m just glad I made it before the panel started, Mark has a habit of calling people out…

Humming the Jeopardy song and eating gummy bears like he'd rather be anywhere else.

“What do you want?” That’s how he addresses the first question, and admonishes her for just asking the question without saying hello. Mhm. That’s Mark Sheppard.

Then skipping over the question, before having them answer each other's questions for him!

I don't even know what's happening…

He doesn’t answer questions. He just berates fans for not knowing the answers already. And people willingly line up to ask him things. I would never put my self in that position. Photos are easy, in out, done. Minimum interaction. Just the way he likes it.

I don’t remember his panel from Texas, but I think he was a little nicer. I know he was at the cocktail party and afterwards at the bar. I think he’s just done with Creation and Supernatural at this point. Something definitely happened there…

Once he got off the stage and started wandering around the ballroom, he seemed a little more personable. That’s my problem with him, he goes from being a complete asshole to joking around and he's actually pretty funny. It’s love/hate, just like Crowley…

OOohhh! Backtalk! A fan who can take his attitude! Bully for her.

I love show secrets! One of my favorite moments on the show was when Dean called Crowley and it came up “Not Moose.” It was a gag in post-production that Mark really enjoyed!

Trump totally made a demon deal to win the presidency…although according to Crowley himself, he never had a soul to begin with. Not even the King of Hell would touch that one!

A real moment with Mark Sheppard. He doesn't wanna talk about the show, but ask him about current events, you’ll get a real answer. I can respect that.

“Vote for your interests. Inform yourself, and if you don’t have good information: ask.”

Misha talks politics all the time, but Mark was talking about it in a way I could actually understand.

He's an American! That's pretty awesome.

He may be having an issue behind the scenes, but he’s amazed by the fandom, his fellow actors and what we do collectively for the world…and of course how we put up with him. At least he knows he’s horrible to us.

Apparently his father is an actor too and he played the older version of Mark's character on Doctor Who!

The kiss with Jim Beaver. This will never stop being talked about.

Drum talk. I know nothing about drums. It was fun to hear him talk about with a 16 year old, trying to catch her up.

“What do you miss most about being on Supernatural?” Nothing

But get him talking about Doctor Who and he can't stop…

Mark thought it would've been interesting if Rowena had been an ex-lover instead of his mother.

Not a big fan of season twelve…maybe that’s when something happened and he was just running out his contract…

I have no idea what was discussed during the last ten minutes of the panel. My seat was on the aisle and a woman came up to me with an attitude, pissed off that I was in her seat. I showed her my lanyard with the seat number on it and hers had the same. I had no idea what to do and it takes me a while to think in a situation like this. I don’t like being wrong, but it was the seat number on my lanyard. She left in a huff to complain to the Creation staff.

She came back and sat on a different aisle seat, glaring at me. I remembered I had the original ticket with me and started looking in my bag, only to realize it was up in my room. That's when the questions started. She asked me when I registered, like that really makes a difference. I told her I registered Thursday night and she accusingly asked why I hadn't been there yesterday. I explained that I was here at the hotel but not at the convention until today.

Someone else came along and said she was in their seat and she got all huffy again and went to see what was taking creation so long. The woman next to me felt the need to inform me that the other woman had been sitting there this whole time. I couldn't enjoy Mark’s panel after that attack. A woman from Creation finally came with an electronic list of all the guests with their seat numbers. They wrote the wrong number on my lanyard!

I know some people obsess over their seat number and know it by heart, but I have much more important things to worry about on a daily basis, I don't know my seat number offhand and I didn’t expect to need it. The staff should’ve copied it correctly and this whole situation would’ve been avoided. At conventions, I usually make friends with the people sitting next to me, and this is my first interaction with a fellow fan? I was ashamed of the fandom for her having treated me like that.

Again, Creation fixed the problem and I went to my seat, all nerved up and embarrassed as Mark answered the last few questions and Rob came out to play him off the stage before Misha came out. Thankfully I managed to calm myself down before his panel started.

How is wearing a jacket!?

Misha’s been to Hawaii before. Ten years ago he was in Kauai hiking the Napali Coast Trail to a beautiful beach where naked hippies were roasting a goat.

His mother-in-law is the audience. This could get interesting…

When Misha and Vicki first met at a boarding school, Vicki told her mother she would be visiting her friend Misha...without specifying his gender. “‘You girls have fun’. And we did.” OMG MISHA!! That’s awesome!

Misha wanted Cas to be the worst cowboy ever in Tombstone and walked like Woody fro Toy Story. They edited it to make it look badass instead! LMAO!

Cas’ straw cowboy hat…haha

Of course his favorite episode to film this season was the first one when Cas was dead on the table…before Jensen maliciously punched him in the balls. On the first take. So he spent the rest of the takes rigid with anxiety about getting his balls punched again.

He brought up The Empty! They made him keep switching characters and he doesn’t even know what accent that was…

Misha is so cute with kids! That little girl was adorable. He gave her his lei and almost gave away the band’s stuff, was gonna let her play their drums.

I love hearing abut his kids! They are absolutely amazing! West is hilarious!

Jared would be a great dane, Jensen a german shepherd, Castiel is a golden retriever and Crowley is a Chihuahua…

I love that he knows about fan fiction…they all do…and he loves talking about it!

Eagle screeching is a real problem while filming in Vancouver.

You tell Misha not to do something, that pretty much guarantees he’s gonna do it.

There’s no continuity in Supernatural. When they can't remember how Cas smites someone, or does ime travel, they just do whatever.

Doctor Who has “Wibbly-Wobbly, Timey Whimey" as an excuse, Supernatural doesn’t even bother with an excuse, they see what they can get away with.

Misha’s mother is a member of the DAR, he wants to know if he’s a relative of Genghis Khan, knows he is a great-great-great-great ancestor of Lewis or Clark and is really proud of it. His family goes back to the Mayflower.

Somebody brought up something from a previous con, reminding him of his suggestion for an interrogation technique of using a strap-on…in front of his mother-in-law.

His old resume!

He went bicycle touring with his wife on a tandem bike in Baja, CA. They unknowingly set up camp in a dump and thought they were going to die in the middle of the desert at the hands of three burly bikers they accepted a ride from.

I love that he connects with fans through GISH. I’ve participated from the very beginning, although I may have skipped a year. I do what I can, but I’ve never really taken anything truly profound away from it. I don’t really connect with my teammates and we never win…I don’t think I’m really getting it.

He built a school in Haiti years ago with Random Acts and he keeps in touch once a year via phone calls. He truly is an Angel.

Rich sang Misha off stage because the band was setting up for the Luau!

My room being in the same building as the convention is really convenient! I headed up there for a quick snack break and to upload all the photos I’d taken at the panels before going back for more photo-ops and my first autographs of the weekend.

That's when I realized: I’m getting Misha's autograph and have nothing for him to sign! I’d been back and forth all year trying to decide if I wanted the boys to sign my 27x40 season one poster or not - not - and agonized over what I was going to say to them, but never once thought about what I would have Misha sign, never mind what to say! And my decision to actually go to Hawaii was so last minute, all I was thinking about was my health…

I brought my Convention Binder with me, with all the plans I made for this trip, including an awesome cover with the three of them on it. That seemed like a good idea, it’s the same thing I did with James on the Mediterranean cruise. So I brought my book with me and kept the cover sheet out and available.

When I got back to the convention floor, I saw Cliff in the hallway!! That means Jared and Jensen are in the building! …somewhere.

In line, I kept thinking about what else I had that he could sign. My phone case is the KAZ 2Y5 license plate and if I had them all sign it, I could get that protective paint to cover it so the ink wouldn’t fade. I decided to ask my friends on Facebook for their opinions. I went with my original idea, but still wished I'd thought it through a little more.

When I got up to Misha, I said hi, he signed the picture, I thanked him and it was over. He’s beautiful. I’m in love with him. Last time I talked to him, he cut me off so I stopped myself before I even tried to tell him anything about my Convention Binder, Hawaiian adventures, getting here… I was too unprepared for the entire interaction.

Guess this means I’ll have to do it again… That would be a good thing, except I’m going home completely broke and my health is rapidly failing. Why couldn't I just do it right the first time!? I really don’t need the stress of trying to attend another convention right now, and the inevitable let down of it not happening.

None of this is Misha's fault, I’m too in my own head. And, like I said, he's beautiful. The second he looks at me, I fall into those blue eyes and can’t even think. This man, I swear…

Next up: photo-ops with the ladies of Supernatural! No struggling with intense feelings there, although Kim and Briana are really beautiful! I got over my thing about taking photos with women years ago when I met Billie Piper. I was 260lbs and neither of us looked that good in the photo, lol. I redeemed myself at Boston Comic Con a few years later, at 180lbs with Karen Gillan, further still in Rhode Island with Samantha Smith, Alona Tan and Alex Kingston! I’m a pro!

Or not.

I’m still not big on intimate contact with anyone, but I love the guys enough to make it worth it. Didn't know until after that I pulled away from them…

Kim was amazing! I absolutely love her!

I found my Supernatural twin in Briana! Too bad Donna always has her hair up and our faces aren’t similar enough without the hair, lol. She was amazing.

Still wish I’d gotten out of bed for the Wayward Girls Photo-Op on Friday. I was going to bring my Wayward shirt to wear between them, but again, last minute decision to actually do this and fandom shirts aren’t my go-to.

Luau seating started at 4:30PM and the dinner buffet would be served at 5:45PM, giving me plenty of time to change, touch up my make-up and get down there to find my table.

I look AMAZING in this dress! Kinda wish I'd worn it all day…

I stayed in the room a little longer than I planned. I grabbed my photo-ops from earlier before I went up and the photo with Mark instantly had me picturing my photo-op from Texas. I think it really hit me, for the first time, how much weight I’ve actually lost. I don’t even look like the same person. This is amazing!

I wish I could show him, but I'm not so sure that he'd care…and I really don't need his snark.

I’d passed the lawn enough to know where it was, so I made my way there easily. They stopped me at the entrance, I showed them my lanyard and they directed me to a table to get my seat number. I did that earlier, but apparently they changed things around. Whatever.

As I looked for my table number, I was getting closer and closer to the stage. My table was to the right with a perfect view…of a palm tree. Awesome.

I had to smile, it was just too perfect!

The girl next to me didn’t think so. She was practically in tears because the view was obstructed and she’d asked to move her seat but they said no. Someone with Creation came around later to let her know that she could move her seat closer to the stage once the show started. Perfect!

I was just happy to be there.

She and a few others still bitched through dinner, but I did catch conversion on the opposite side of the table from these two women who had been in Hawaii for three weeks and were staying after the convention as well. I was so jealous, but they were having so much fun! I couldn’t help but be happy for them.

I was a little disappointed by the slow cooked pig. I was expecting an open flame and a giant pig rotating on a spick. I would’ve tried some of that. Instead, dinner was buffet style and the pig was pulled pork. It smelled nasty and the sides weren’t much better.

I had a small plate of fruit and the dessert wasn’t bad. I had food up in the room for later.

The view of the stage was breathtaking as the sun went down over the water.

It’s incredible that they still practice these traditions and perform them flawlessly with so much flare!

The men of the Supernatural B Team and convention staff even participated in the event! It was absolutely hilarious!

Then they invited women up from the audience for the hula dance.

OMG Misha came out in this beautiful blue Hawaiian shirt that totally matched this eyes! Made them brighter, even! And I didn’t have the best view… He is absolutely gorgeous.

“This is a Supernatural convention. Like, we have done something that no one has ever even conceived of before because it’s so ridiculous and we’re bringing it!”

The last time I went to a convention, there was no “house band,” and Jason Manns was the Saturday Night Special. I didn’t even know Rob Benedict could sing! Since then, they’ve been headlining the Supernatural Creation Tour around the country and I finally got to be a part of it.

Louden Swain isn’t my favorite band ever. I don’t know any of their songs. I probably won’t go home and buy all their albums on iTunes, or ever listen to them again. But here, tonight, they are the greatest band in the world playing not only a sold-out show to die-hard fans, but a free concert to everyone at the resort watching from their balconies, clueing so many people in on this incredible fandom. There are no words to describe this feeling of-of wonder and awe and the amount of pride I have for this show - this fandom - that I am truly blessed to be apart of.

Magical. Absolutely magical.

This has never happened before. It might never happen again. I may never be here for it again. But it’s happening now, I made it here and I am part of Supernatural once again making history.

Didn't know Osric could sing...

Gil sang an original song about his grandfather's passing. It was beautiful.

The ladies of Supernatural are seriously talented and so damn beautiful!

…and Jensen sang “Brother.” My heart!

Jared and Jensen on stage musically together! My life is now complete…

Side note, I’d been eyeing the bathroom all night, just in case. Thankfully it was right by where I’d moved my chair and I happened to noticed Jensen and Misha being escorted to the bathroom with a security detail earlier. lol.

The show ended at 9:00PM, it was still early so I headed back to my room to upload pics, charge my camera batteries and take a quick shower before bed.

After my shower, I got into my big, comfy bed and put Gilmore Girls on for background noise while the pictures were still uploading. All of a sudden, I look up and see Jared coming into their house! I somehow forgot he was in the season I was watching and I just saw him on stage an hour ago playing guitar, so I got a little excited. It was actually really funny, like he just walked into my room, I was so surprised to see him! lol.

It was still early, so I decided to go through all the pictures I’d taken at the panels and the concert, mark my favorites and create albums to share on Facebook. That only took an hour and I was in bed by 11:30PM.

BUSY DAY TOMORROW!
